A Year Through The Story
I’m currently working on a chronological plan for reading through the Bible in a year. The plan will be divided into three weekly sessions, so you can receive one reminder at the beginning of the week, or a reminder at the start of each session. A formal companion guide is being written and will be available in late 2027, LORD willing.
The form below will generate a calendar for your smartphone (IOS and Androd) that lets you choose your start date and the number of reminders you’d like to receive. Choose your start date, your preference for reminder frequency, the time of day for your reminder, then click download and follow the directions below the form.
A Year Through the Story
Pick a start date and how you'd like to be nudged, then tap the button. Your phone will download a calendar with the whole year's readings built in — reminders drop straight onto your device. No app, no account.
Adding it to your phone or computer
Mac (Calendar app): To keep the readings in their own calendar you can hide or delete later, create it first — choose File ▸ New Calendar and name it (e.g. "Bible Reading"). Then choose File ▸ Import, select the downloaded .ics file, and pick that calendar as the destination. (Opening the file directly only lets you add to a calendar you already have, so make the new one first.)iPhone / iPad: Same idea as the Mac — make the calendar first so the readings stay in their own place. In the Calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom, then Add Calendar, and name it (e.g. "Bible Reading"). Then open the downloaded .ics file, tap the calendar name to choose the one you just made, and tap Add All. (To remove everything later, just delete that calendar.)
Android (Google Calendar): Open the downloaded .ics file and Google Calendar will offer to import it. For a separate calendar, first create a new one in Google Calendar on a computer, then use Settings ▸ Import & export to import the file into it.
A few notes
- The plan is week-based, so you can start any date you like — each week's three readings fill it in a 2 + 2 + 3 rhythm.
- Each reading spans its days on your calendar, so it shows on every day it's active (Session 1 over two days, Session 2 over two, Session 3 over three), with one reminder on the first morning. It won't block your schedule as "busy."
- To remove everything later, delete the calendar you imported the readings into — on any device.
